UNKNOWN POLYPHENISM
Philip Tsetinis is an artist living and working in Vienna. His main interest focuses on the staging of photographic images based on observations of socio-political developments.
In his work he uses the photographic medium as a tool to create fiction that simulates the dynamic and random nature of a documentary. With hypothetical narratives, Philip stages photographic moments based on autobiographical memories and references.
UNKNOWN POLYPHENISM

"Unknown Polyphenism" investigates on a fictional level the characteristics of transgenerational transformations. The project uses a thought experiment to question on how several evolutionary adaptations could affect a subsequent generation.

The title of the series derives from the word "unknown" for the concept of an imaginary future and from the word Polyphenism. The biological term describes the visually perceptible change of a living being through the adaptation to changed environmental conditions like food, temperature, population density a.s.o.
"The project uses a thought experiment to question on how several evolutionary adaptations could affect a subsequent generation."

The series, composed of photographic staging’s, hypothetically provide fragmentary insights into how a subsequent generation could adapt to a future polyphenism.

"Unknown Polyphenism" investigates the cognitive connection between future hypothetical events and the associated subjective imagination of the future.
